About Us

MTS-India section is one of the newest additions to MTS to spread the awareness, understanding and advancement of marine technologyaround the world in India. Following the guidelines of the parent organisation MTS, MTS-India section would focus to promote MTS’s mission in India with a thrust on student membership and participation.

The seed to starting MTS India was sowed in May 2015 during Underwater Technology Symposium UT-15 in Chennai India. A group of likeminded scientists and some leading marine technology Industries thought that it was the right time to start a MTS chapter in India. The group met a few times and decided to form MTS India. A formal application was filed with the Govt of India in October for registering MTS India as a society and on 30th Dec 2015 MTS India got the official approval from the registrar of societies. A New Year gift for all of us.
